Was ist LitBuy? LitBuy, c'est quoi? The short versions
Was ist LitBuy: a shopping agent (Einkaufsagent), not a shop. You still choose the product on a Chinese marketplace; LitBuy buys it, inspects it and sends it on. The searches for "was ist LitBuy" are small (about 90 a month in Germany), but the name itself is large, which means many people meet LitBuy first through a spreadsheet and ask what it is afterwards.
LitBuy, c'est quoi: a purchasing agent (agent d'achat) that buys on Taobao, Weidian and 1688 for you. It is neither a marketplace nor a brand; the items belong to the sellers. If you already hold a LitBuy spreadsheet, the rows are links to those sellers' listings, and LitBuy is the checkout.
An agent, not a shop: the sellers and the stock are someone else's.
A buyer in China who ships to you
LitBuy calls itself a "reverse cross-border shopping platform". In practice it is an agent: you choose an item on a Chinese site, LitBuy's staff place the order with the seller in China, the seller sends it to LitBuy's warehouse in Xiamen, and LitBuy inspects, stores and ships it abroad. You never need a Chinese account, a Chinese address or Chinese payment apps. The slogan on the homepage is "Buy from China at 0% markup & worldwide delivery", with badges for "0% Markup", "Global Shipping" and "120-Day Storage".
The loop has three payments. You pay LitBuy for the item and the seller's domestic shipping to the warehouse; later you pay international shipping when you submit a parcel; and, on some lines, customs charges are handled by LitBuy and folded into the quote. The ordering guide walks through the clicks. LitBuy also runs a forwarding service, where you send your own parcels to its warehouse and ship them on.
LitBuy buys, stores and ships; the seller stays in China.
If the agent fee is 0%, where does LitBuy earn?
LitBuy's help centre promises free shopping-agent services "with no additional charges other than merchandise costs, international shipping fees, and customs charges". It does not publish margins, so we can only list the lines it shows. Every line below is documented; none is a profit estimate.
| Line | What LitBuy shows | In euros (¥1 ≈ €0.12) |
|---|---|---|
| International shipping | Weight fee plus fuel surcharge, per line and weight | €24.12 for 1 kg to Germany (list) |
| Operation fee per parcel | ¥10.53 to ¥12.65 on lines we read | about €1.30 to €1.50 |
| EU prepayment | ¥24 flat on EU tax-free lines (€3) | €3.00 customs prepayment |
| Custom photos | ¥1 per photo beyond the routine 3 to 6 | about €0.12 |
| Shoe video | ¥7 per video | about €0.84 |
| Rehearsal parcel | ¥20 plus materials | about €2.40 |
| Payment handling | Percentage not published; shown at checkout | not available |
| Lit Prime | Paid 30-day membership; price not published | not available |
Two further income sources may exist, but LitBuy does not describe them, so we do not assert them: whatever difference there is between its carrier cost and the quote, and any currency margin in its conversion. LitBuy says it converts at a rate based on the Bank of China; the exact spread is not published. The fees page breaks the quote down line by line.
Shipping and parcel fees carry the business; item purchase is nominally free.
Who runs it: two listed companies and an app publisher
The footer credits the platform to LITBUY Ltd. and lists LITBUY LIMITED at 7 Copperfield Road, Coventry, and IYFENIX SARL in Paris. The terms of service, last updated 1 October 2025, say LITBUY LIMITED owns and operates the service under UK law, company number 16786295. The UK register lists the company as active and incorporated on 15 October 2025, so it is young; the app's first release was on 22 November 2025. The apps themselves come from Hong Kong Haini Technology Limited, and the forwarding agreement is governed by Chinese law, with disputes to a Hangzhou arbitration court.
Three company names in one set of documents is not proof of anything wrong, and LitBuy does not explain the split. For a buyer the useful part is who answers: the customer service page lists the contact routes, and the legitimacy page weighs the evidence.
The contracting party is a UK company incorporated in October 2025.
How big is LitBuy? Four dated signals
LitBuy does not publish order counts, so we use signals other people publish.
- Semrush data for September 2026 shows about 59,600 global monthly searches for the name, 22,200 of them in Germany, 12,100 in France, 6,600 in the US and 3,600 in the UK.
- Its Discord invite showed about 207,500 members, about 7,400 online, on 19 October 2026; see the Discord page.
- The iPhone app has 2,030 ratings at 4.68 in Germany, and Google Play lists 100K+ downloads at 4.6 from 715 reviews (app page).
- Trustpilot shows 587 reviews, 584 in the last 12 months, with the rating hidden and a note that reviews it judged not genuine were removed.
The German figure is the one that matters here: 22,200 searches a month makes Germany LitBuy's biggest search market. Search volume is demand, not sales, and several Trustpilot reviewers in September and October 2026 complained about coupon exclusions and refund speed, so treat scale as reach rather than quality.
Big in Germany by search, young by incorporation date.
Agent versus a European retailer
| Question | LitBuy (agent) | Retailer in Germany |
|---|---|---|
| Who sells to you? | The Chinese seller; LitBuy buys on your behalf | The retailer |
| Price shown | Item in yuan, shipping separately | Final price with VAT |
| Delivery | 7 to 14 business days after shipping for the EU, plus 1 to 3 days processing | Typically days |
| Inspection | 3 to 6 routine photos; extras ¥1 | You inspect on arrival |
| Returns | 5 days after storage; you pay freight plus ¥5 | Retailer policy |
| Customs | Handled on tax-free lines, flat €3 per parcel | Not applicable |
| Minimum sensible order | Several items per parcel | One item |
The retailer row for delivery is general knowledge, not LitBuy data. LitBuy's stated times come from its Shipping Policy: 1 to 3 business days to process, then 7 to 14 for the EU. The case for an agent is range, not convenience: it reaches marketplaces that do not ship abroad. Before buying, price a parcel with the shipping calculator; a cheap single item rarely beats a local shop once shipping is added.
Choose LitBuy for access to Chinese listings, not for speed or small orders.
What LitBuy cannot or will not do
Its guide says it cannot purchase items from cross-border shopping platforms. Prohibited goods include tobacco, alcohol, knives and blades, some foods, seeds, magnetic components and goods that infringe trademarks or copyrights; batteries, liquids, creams and cosmetics need contact with support before buying. Customs can still seize goods that the carrier accepted, and the Disclaimer page says LitBuy is not responsible for clearance outcomes on categories such as branded goods. Declare values truthfully, as LitBuy's forwarding page asks.
If you would rather not run your own account, you can scan our WhatsApp QR on the contact page instead and get a single delivered price with photos before dispatch, paying order by order.

Basics people ask before signing up
Was ist LitBuy, in one sentence?
LitBuy is a shopping agent (in German, ein Einkaufsagent). It buys products from Chinese marketplaces such as Taobao, Weidian and 1688 on your behalf, stores them in a warehouse in Xiamen, photographs them, and ships them to you internationally. In Germany the name drew about 22,200 monthly searches in Semrush data for September 2026. It is not a shop with its own stock.
LitBuy, c'est quoi et est-ce un site de vente directe?
No, it is not a shop. LitBuy is an agent d'achat, a purchasing agent: it buys the item from the Chinese seller for you, then ships it abroad. You pay for the item, the domestic shipping to the Xiamen warehouse and the international transport. LitBuy advertises 0% markup. In France the name drew about 12,100 monthly searches in September 2026, according to Semrush data.
If LitBuy charges 0% agent fee, how does it make money?
LitBuy's visible income lines are international shipping, a per-parcel operation fee of about ¥10.53 to ¥12.65 in the estimator, paid extras such as ¥1 photos and the ¥20 rehearsal parcel, payment handling and the paid Lit Prime membership. LitBuy does not publish its margins, so this is an inventory of charges, not a profit analysis.
Is LitBuy the same company as the app developer?
Not by name. The terms of service name LITBUY LIMITED, company number 16786295, incorporated in the UK on 15 October 2025. The iPhone and Android apps are published by Hong Kong Haini Technology Limited, and the footer also lists IYFENIX SARL in Paris. LitBuy does not explain how the three relate, so we report them without drawing a conclusion.
Can LitBuy buy from AliExpress, Temu or Amazon?
No. LitBuy's guide says it cannot purchase items from cross-border shopping platforms, which sell and ship abroad themselves; Amazon is not among its listed sources. It handles Taobao, Weidian and 1688 by pasted link, and Yupoo, Xianyu and similar sources through Fill & Buy. For AliExpress or Temu, order direct and use LitBuy only for forwarding if you have a domestic China shipment.
Is LitBuy cheaper than buying from a European retailer?
It depends on the item, not the agent. Our worked case: a ¥159 item is about €19, but shipping 1 kg to Germany was €24.12 on 19 October 2026, so a single cheap item more than doubles. LitBuy pays off when several rows share one parcel, or the item has no European equivalent at a similar price.
