LitBuy is a working agent with a tangled paper trail: companies, ratings and complaints, read for buyers in Germany

Checked and updated .

Short answer: Yes, LitBuy is a working shopping agent: its site, help centre, estimator and apps were all live on 19 October 2026, and German buyers rate its iPhone app 4.68 from 2,030 ratings. The warning signs are paperwork and money rather than a vanished storefront: four legal jurisdictions in its documents, a Trustpilot page with the rating withheld, and complaints about coupons, fees and slow refunds. Pay per order and start small.

Working agent, thin track record: the short answer

LitBuy is a shopping agent. You paste a Taobao, Weidian or 1688 link, it buys the item, stores it in a warehouse in Xiamen, photographs it and ships it abroad. On 19 October 2026 its website, help centre, shipping estimator and both apps worked, and it had published five announcements this year, the latest on 18 October. A site like that is not a pop-up shop that vanishes after a week.

"Legit" still covers three different questions: is the operator real, do parcels arrive, and what happens to your money when something goes wrong. The first is partly answered by official records, the second by reviews, and the third by LitBuy's own rules, which are stricter than many buyers expect. If you are still working out what an agent does, what LitBuy is and how the agent model works comes first.

LitBuy is real and operating; its weak points are the thin history and the money rules, not a missing storefront.

Four jurisdictions in one set of documents

LitBuy's footer says the platform is "jointly operated and managed by LITBUY Ltd." and lists two companies. The app stores add a Hong Kong developer, and the forwarding agreement brings in a fourth legal system. None of this is hidden, but you have to read four documents to see it.

Two details deserve a plain reading. The terms carry the date 1 October 2025, two weeks before the UK company was incorporated, and we cannot tell whether the date was never updated or the terms were written ahead of time. And the UK company is under a year old on paper; we could not verify whether the LitBuy brand traded earlier under another entity. Neither point proves a problem. Both mean there is little filing history to lean on, which is a reason to keep early orders small. Terms and contact routes are covered on the LitBuy customer service page.

The operator is real and registered in the UK, but disputes about forwarding sit under Chinese law, so prevention beats appeal.

Trustpilot and app ratings: what each number can carry

On 19 October 2026 Trustpilot's page for litbuy.com showed no star rating, with the notice that it was unavailable "due to a breach of our guidelines" and a line that Trustpilot had removed reviews it judged not genuine. It still listed 587 reviews, 584 of them in the last 12 months, split 75% five-star, 5% four-star, 2% three-star, 2% two-star and 16% one-star. LitBuy replies to negative reviews. In our read of the newest pages (89 unique rated reviews) the mix was harsher: 51 five-star and 26 one-star, which is about 57% and 29%. Newer reviews lean more negative than the headline split.

An app rating mostly measures the app: search, order screens, notifications. It says little about whether a coupon applied as advertised or a refund arrived. For that, the LitBuy app page lists versions and store details, and the complaint themes below are the better guide.

Trust the app scores for the app and the recent Trustpilot text for the service; ignore the missing star average.

Where LitBuy complaints cluster

From Trustpilot reviews dated September and October 2026, one- and two-star complaints repeat six themes. These are reviewers' claims, not findings, and we did not verify individual orders.

  1. Coupons that cut less than the banner. A reviewer on 18 September 2026 said support told them fuel, handling and service fees are excluded. Our own breakdown on the LitBuy coupon page is consistent with that.
  2. Payment processing fees. One reviewer on 17 October 2026 reported fees of more than 10% on every payment. LitBuy does not publish a percentage, so we could not check it.
  3. Slow refunds after cancelled orders (9 and 14 September 2026).
  4. Packing delays after the late-August typhoon backlog. LitBuy's own notices of 16 and 28 August 2026 confirm the delay and its end.
  5. Thin packaging, with caps arriving crushed (1 September 2026, Germany).
  6. Shipping cost known only after ordering (a German reviewer, October 2026).

Every theme concerns money lines, timing or packaging. The LitBuy fees page goes through every bill line to remove the surprise in the second and sixth points.

Complaints are about fees, coupons and refund speed, so the fix is knowing the bill before you pay.

The June 2026 rumour and the "hacked" searches

A rumour in June 2026 said LitBuy was shutting down. It was false: the agent-status site rep.tools (which earns affiliate commission) listed LitBuy as up when verified on 31 August 2026, and the service was working on 19 October 2026. Searches for "litbuy hacked" and "litbuy data breach" exist in small numbers (Semrush data counts about 20 a month in Germany and 10 in the UK). We found no LitBuy statement and no credible report of a breach as of 19 October 2026. At least two other agents (ACBuy and CNFans) published cyberattack notices this year, which probably explains why the question gets asked about every agent.

That is an honest "no evidence", not a guarantee. Use a unique password for your account and treat any private message offering to "fix your LitBuy account" as hostile.

LitBuy's own help says a PayPal or card chargeback locks your account until you cancel it. Message support first, keep screenshots, and only then use payment-provider protection. Details are on the LitBuy payment methods page.

No shutdown and no confirmed breach as of 19 October 2026; unique passwords cover the rest.

LitBuy Erfahrungen und "Ist LitBuy seriös?": the German view

Germany is LitBuy's biggest search market: Semrush data for September 2026 shows about 22,200 searches a month for "litbuy" in Germany against 12,100 in France and 3,600 in the UK. For "LitBuy Erfahrungen" and "Ist LitBuy sicher?" the answer is the same as above: seriös in the sense of operating, with caveats on fees. What German buyers should add to the picture is the iPhone rating (4.68 from 2,030 ratings, the highest count of any storefront) and the euro maths. LitBuy's estimator quoted €24.12 ($27.10) for 1,000 g on LIT-Economy-DHL-DE, 10–15 working days, with duties handled by LitBuy.

From 25 October 2026 a €2 EU handling fee is added per parcel, so the same parcel is €26.12 before coupons. The LitBuy customs page explains the €3 and €2 lines. For Germans the main protections are boring ones: check photos on arrival, keep the unboxing video, and use PayPal or a card rather than a bank transfer.

German Erfahrungen are mostly positive on the app and critical on fees; the euro bill is knowable in advance.

LitBuy avis et "fiable ?": the French view

France is the second-largest market in the same Semrush data, and the French company IYFENIX SARL in Paris sits in LitBuy's footer. For "LitBuy avis" the facts are identical to the German ones: a working service, a French iPhone rating of 4.73 from 212 ratings, and a Trustpilot page without a rating. The cheapest French line on 19 October 2026 was LIT-Quickly-GOFO-FR at €23.75 ($26.68) for 1 kg, 10–15 working days. "Fiable" here means reliable enough for a small, tracked order, not insured against customs trouble. Read LitBuy for France before choosing a line, and the Paris footer address is not a return address: returns are only to the address support gives you.

French avis match the German picture: operating, ratings decent, caution on fees and refunds.

A first-order test that costs under €30

The most useful legitimacy test is cheap and takes about three weeks. Pay for each order and each parcel when you place it; do not park money in the LitBuy system. If you would rather not open an account first, scan our WhatsApp QR on the contact page: one delivered price, photos before dispatch, and you pay per order.

Assumed first test order to Germany (after 25 October 2026)

T-shirt, ¥79 (about €9.48 at ¥1 ≈ €0.12)€9.48

Seller shipping to warehouse, assumed ¥6€0.72

Shipping, 500 g quote, LIT-Economy-DHL-DE (assumed 0.3 kg parcel)€16.81

EU handling fee per parcel€2.00

Total at risk€29.01

The T-shirt price, domestic shipping and weight are assumptions for this example; the €16.81 is LitBuy's 19 October 2026 estimator quote for 500 g, the nearest quoted weight above 0.3 kg. Then run the chain once: order, wait for arrival photos, ship, track. The ordering guide has the nine steps.

€29.01 buys you the whole chain once, which tells you more than any review.

Questions buyers ask

What separates LitBuy from a scam site?

It is a real agent in the sense that matters first: the site, estimator and apps worked on 19 October 2026, and the iPhone app is rated 4.68 in Germany. Its Trustpilot rating is withheld and the complaints are about fees, coupons and refunds, not a disappearing shop. That points to a commercial service with friction, not a scam. Start with one cheap order.

Why is LitBuy's Trustpilot rating missing?

Trustpilot shows a notice that the rating is unavailable because of a breach of its guidelines, and says it removed reviews it judged not genuine. LitBuy still has 587 reviews listed, 75% of them five-star and 16% one-star. The blank score tells you to read recent reviews yourself rather than trust a number.

Are my PayPal and card payments protected on LitBuy?

Paying by PayPal or card gives you the provider's buyer protection, but there is a catch: LitBuy says a chargeback locks your LitBuy account and freezes orders, parcels and refunds until you cancel it. Contact support first and keep evidence. Pay per order so little money is ever at stake with LitBuy at once.

Has LitBuy been hacked?

We found no LitBuy statement and no credible report of a breach as of 19 October 2026. People search for it, in small numbers, mostly because other agents did announce cyberattacks in 2026. Absence of news is not proof, so use a password you do not reuse elsewhere and never share your login with anyone offering help.

Is LitBuy closing down in 2026?

No. A June 2026 shutdown rumour was false: an agent-status tracker that earns affiliate commission listed LitBuy as up on 31 August 2026, and we found the site working on 19 October 2026. LitBuy also launched memberships on 18 September and published EU customs notices on 18 October, which is what an operating company does.

Where do I complain if an order goes wrong?

Write to [email protected] or open a ticket in your account; the help centre promises a reply within 24 hours. Include the order number and photos. Do not open a PayPal or card dispute first, because that locks the account. If support does not resolve it, a payment dispute remains your last route.
